It's never too early to start earning money. Just ask 12-year-old Max Nissen who found a niche with his John Deere tractor.

The suburban St. Louis boy uses his parents' Christmas gift to charge $25 to clear snow from neighbors' walkways, sidewalks and driveways, according to KSDK, a local NBC affiliate. Some of his best days have seen him earn more than $200 and he's already drafting larger financial plans.

"Sooner or later I'm going to have to start paying for my stuff," he told the television station. "I plan to have savings and all that."

When snow accumulated in the St Louis area earlier this week, Nissen was back atop his tractor and earning money.

Neighbor Michelle Harris was initially dubious but then she expressed support for the ambitious youth and his handy Deere tractor.

"I thought it was kind of a ridiculous Christmas present for a boy to get a tractor," Harris said. "I thought he can't ride around the streets in it, what's he going to do with it? Little did I know he was going to start a business venture."
