2016 Hawkeye Farm Show Takes the Floor at UNI-Dome

The 29th annual Hawkeye Farm Show in Cedar Falls, Ia., is underway, bringing together more than 20,000 area agricultural producers from across Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Illinois to discuss key technologies in the industry.

Between March 1 and 3, more than 240 exhibitors are coming together to showcase 800 products and services. The event, which is being hosted at the UNI-Dome, has a focus on advanced precision farming techniques and technology.

“The Hawkeye Farm Show is a great opportunity to check out the latest in agricultural products and services, and also to learn from top speakers at the daily ISU seminars,” stated Show Manager Penny Swank. “The UNI-dome is always warm and comfortable, and with free admission and parking, free coffee and rolls, and opportunities to win, it’s a great reason to visit Cedar Falls.”

Members from the ISU Extension Service and Outreach will hold a series of agricultural seminars each day between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Guest speakers have included Climatologist Elwynn Taylor, who gave a presentation on weather for the upcoming year on the first day of the event.

Attendees will be able to register to win “Showbucks,” which can be used purchase merchandise from exhibitors throughout the event. Those who show up early will also receive free coffee and rolls until 10 a.m. each day.
