People who have used farm equipment know that part of the reason that the machines are able to perform a number of tasks that humans and animals are incapable of is due to the high level of power contained within the chassis of each model.

A recent demonstration in Monticello, Illinois, demonstrated how farm equipment can be dangerous if it is not handled properly, despite all of the safeguards that John Deere and other companies have installed in order to protect operators, the Decatur Herald-Review reported.

According to the news outlet, several local tractor and farm equipment experts demonstrated the dangers associated with specific models and outlined the best ways for people to use the machines in order to limit the possibility for injury.

"We want them to know there are a lot of dangers," FFA student Cory Magsamen said of the need for the demonstration. "Accidents do happen."

The John Deere website outlines a number of safety tips for operators, and the company has increased its focus on the proper maintenance and of equipment in order to limit the possibility of a tragic occurrence.
