According a recent company news release, John Deere has been ranked 16th on Aon Hewitt’s “2014 Global Top Companies for Leaders list,” a study that recognizes best-in-class management practices and the effects on business and financial performance.

2014’s recognition marks the third consecutive year that Deere has been included on the list and along with their 16th overall ranking, Deere sits at 10th among North American companies. Pete Sanborn, global talent practice leader at Aon Hewitt, said about Deere’s inclusion in the release, "Top Companies for Leaders are passionate about cultivating resilient and engaging leaders who take the time to know and develop employees and understand what experiences they need to rise above the rest. Deere is among a select group of organizations that excel at building and growing a strong leadership environment."

To compile this list of rankings, independent judges rank customers based on strength of leadership practices and culture, and global leader development and alignment of leadership. Overall reputation as well as businesses and financial performance are also driving factors in the rankings.

Since being founded in 1837 by John Deere, the company has had a long list of successful leaders. From Deere’s first steel plow to Robert W.
