Soul and Vibe Interactive Inc. announced on Nov. 30 that it will release the “Johnny Tractor and Friends: Snow Day” digital interactive storybook for iOS, Android and Kindle Fire in December 2015. The John Deere-branded “Johnny Tractor and Friends” characters, including Danny Dozer and Grady Grader, will be featured throughout the app.
The goal of the storybook is to teach readers the importance of teamwork and friendship. The “Johnny Tractor” character and his friends will work in Deerfield Valley where there is an abundance of holiday activities. The app is specifically targeted at preschoolers and young readers to promote early literacy.
The John Deere storybook will be available on the Apple App Store for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, as well as the Google Play Store for Android devices. Kindle Fire users will be able to download it from Amazon for their devices.
In September 2015, Soul and Vibe released its first interactive book, “Johnny Tractor and Friends: County Fair.”
“We chose to enter the interactive book category from a position of strength, and that strength comes in the form of a high-quality product that bears a top-tier licensed-brand, John Deere,” said Peter Anthony Chiodo, Soul and Vibe’s CEO and president, at the time of the announcement.
The goal of the initial interactive book was also to promote literacy and reading comprehension among preschoolers and young readers, while also teaching them a little bit about farm equipment.
