John Deere announced on Feb. 22 that it has been recognized as one of the Top 50 Most Admired Companies, according to research conducted by Fortune Magazine. The annual ranking is considered to be the most reputable “report card” on consumers’ views of businesses.

Some of the criteria considered by the evaluators included innovation, people management, use of corporate assets and long-term investment value. John Deere continues to pride itself on providing advanced products and services to customers whose work is linked to the land.

"Our focus each day is to serve customers around the world with great products and services," said Samuel Allen, chairman and chief executive officer at Deere. "Rankings such as the Fortune Most Admired list indicate we are conducting our business in line with the company's four core values of integrity, quality, commitment, and innovation."

This isn’t the first time in the last year that Deere has been included on a prestigious list. In 2015, the company made the Ethisphere Institute’s list of “World’s Most Ethical Companies.” The list annually recognizes businesses that have made a material impact on the way business is conducted through ethics and transparency.

“We do not take that for granted and will continue to work hard to earn that trust,” Allen said at the time of the announcement.

The five key categories included in Ethisphere’s rankings are ethics and compliance programs, corporate leadership and responsibility, culture of ethics, governance and leadership, innovation and reputation.
