The John Deere Company has recently announced its all-new 2720 Disk Ripper, a heavy duty primary tillage machine designed to handle a wide range of tillage tasks. This machine features several features that will assist farmers with responsibilities throughout the 2013 tillage season.

The new machine announcement on the Deere website explains some of the unique features offered within the 2720 Ripper as Deere expands its stock of agricultural equipment. The machine uses a combination disk-ripper-disk configuration to cut, size, and bury reside; penetrate the soil; and level the field all in one pass. The 2720 Disk Ripper also includes a new gang design with heavier C-springs, thicker gang tubes, and the largest gang bolt in the industry. The Ripper is available in four widths: 12 ft. 6 in., 17 ft. 6 in., 22 ft. 6 in., and 27 ft. 6 in., depending on the size that best fits a producer's farm size and tractor horsepower.

From the announcement, Jake Stien, product manager at the John Deere Des Moines Works, says, "As crop residue increases with high-yielding crops, managing residue and compaction becomes more challenging for producers. The 2720 Disk Ripper helps them manage the most difficult residue conditions, in addition to providing improved residue flow and soil leveling with industry-exclusive hydraulic rolling baskets. No matter the field conditions, the 2720 is going to deliver the performance and productivity to simplify customers' fall tillage operations."

With the upcoming 2013 tillage season, the John Deere 2720 Disk Ripper provides users with the opportunity to perform a wide variety of tillage tasks, making it one of the most powerful machines in the industry.
