Deere and Company and DN2K announced on Oct. 8 that they have agreed to create SageInsights to further develop the DN2K cloud software platform, MyAgCentral. The goal will be to provide more services and opportunities to the agricultural industry.

"Through this initiative, John Deere expands its products and services for precision agriculture," said John May, president of Agricultural Solutions and Chief Information Officer at Deere. "DN2K is uniquely positioned to help advisers and consultants use information from multiple sources to better serve growers."

DN2K is responsible for developing the MyAgCentral platform, which allows agricultural professionals to collect, organize and analyze machine-to-machine information.

"The agriculture industry has significant opportunities to increase productivity by understanding and leveraging the operational intelligence that is already available," said Susan Lambert, president and CEO of DN2K. "Creating SageInsights allows us to serve a broader range of the agricultural community."

MyAgCentral will be integrated with the Deere API. This will make the data management tools of both platforms available to agricultural professionals. In the future, SageInsights may also explore opportunities in the construction equipment industry.

"John Deere customers are faced with the challenge of feeding an increasing world population," May continued. "This joint venture aligns with our efforts to connect people, equipment, technology and insights to help farmers meet that challenge."

DN2K was founded back in 2011. It provides M2M Software-as-a-Service solutions that perform with real-time data.
