In Summer 2011, the third annual Drive Green Challenge will be, literally, pulling into selected John Deere dealers from the East Coast to the Midwest. A semi-tractor and trailer, customized for the events, will haul a few utility tractors and related equipment to approximately 60 dealerships for test-drive and demonstration purposes.

A unique Gator utility vehicle - the "Tail Gator" XUV, complete with speakers and other gadgets - will be featured at the sites. In addition, there will be a drawing for a similar machine at the end of the summer, to be given to one visitor to the Challenge's various dates.

The multi-faceted aspect of the series was alluded to by John Deere marketing manager Steve Geick: "We've designed the Challenge events to give people a one-stop opportunity to check out different models of tractors, as well as a wide variety of other John Deere equipment they can use to maintain their properties and for their businesses."

Outside the main Drive Green events are satellite editions at local John Deere dealers. As a result, commercial and individual consumers will be able to take part in obtaining 2011 equipment information and view demonstrations even if they are not near official Challenges.
