Recently, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's office in Pago Pago, American Samoa put together a day of career advice and information for around two dozen local middle school students. Converted from the popular Bring Your Child to Work Day, this event brought students from an elementary school in touch with several USDA agencies and other community businesses.

Officials from the USDA's Farm Service Agency (FSA) led the career workshop, hoping to "create an awareness of the excellent federal career opportunities among the youth in the community and especially among the young people living within the immediate vicinity of our federal building," as the FSA's Josie Lealasola said.

Among the presenters were representatives from USDA agencies - the FSA, the Natural Resource Conservation Service, and Rural Development - as well as the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
