While most people will put away their used tractor for the winter, one man took a John Deere machine and turned it into something he could use in the snow.

According to North Dakota news site Inforum.com, Wyatt Kram combined a used tractor produced by John Deere with one of the company's snowmobiles. The result is a machine that can hit 45 mph and features custom-made components.

"On a snowmobile, you can put your legs back and you can balance yourself better, kind of control it," Kram told the news site. "On this one, you’re at the mercy of the trail. You feel every bump."

The machine can be used both on the snow and regular ground. Kram started constructing the unique ride in July of last year and got the base parts from a number of friends.

Although Kram can take his "snow-mower" out during the winter, many owners of used tractors will put their machines away as the lawn care season comes to a close. Experts note people should make sure to clear off any grass debris before doing so, as leaving it on can lead to oxidation.
