Homeowners have certainly used tractors to take keep their lawns in tip-top shape, and there's also technology out there that may help them with their green goals.
A new, free application for the Apple iPhone was launched recently by The Scotts Company, which produced the program in conjunction with technology firm appssavvy. By downloading the My Scotts Lawn app, people may be able to get a better handle on how to care for their grass.
"We've taken our popular lawn care program and enabled it in an app that is based on the user's location and grass type, for a customized Scotts lawn program right on their personal mobile device," said Kip Edwardson, manager of interactive marketing for the company.
Along with the care program, homeowners can tap into videos produced by Scotts featuring their lawn care experts. They can also track how well their lawn has progressed and post before-and-after photos.
When caring for lawns, location is certainly a key, as is implied by the abilities of the Scotts app. Where a property is located can affect nutrient levels in the soil, along with how much precipitation grass gets.
