Lincoln, Nebraska, is the site of a tractor-pulling contest where young children from the area compete with their favorite piece of used farming equipment, according to The Lincoln Courier.

The Logan County Fair opened with the tractor-pulling contest for children, as the Logan County Farm Bureau Young Leaders Committee held the event in an effort to carry on the agricultural tradition of the area, the news source reported.

"We’ve done this for over 20 years and I’m sure many of the members participated in the tractor-pulling contest when they were young," Jim Drew, a member of the Logan County Farm Bureau, told The Courier.

Visitors from around the county came to the event, as 11 children showcased their abilities on smaller versions of John Deere tractors. Different weight classes were set up in an effort to provide the children with a fair chance of winning, according to the news source.

More than 1 million visitors attend fairs and festivals in the state of Nebraska each year, according to the Nebraska Association of Fair Managers.
