The 10,000th construction project associated with ARRA funds is happening in North Carolina.
As construction equipment gets moving on projects across the country, government efforts to help with the economy reached a new high recently.
Vice President Joe Biden said that 10,000 transportation projects have started as a result of the American Recover and Reinvestment Act. The act was signed into law just over one year ago.
Biden said that though construction projects started so far are helping the economy, more can be expected in the future.
"This spring, recovery act projects will pick up the pace across the country, providing even more jobs improving America's roads, highways and bridges," Biden said at a recent engagement in North Carolina.
The vice president was in the state in order to celebrate the 10,000th project funded by the ARRA. The Sanford Bypass is a $26 million project that was sped up by funds from the federal government's recovery measures.
Along with roads and transportation, the ARRA has helped those who make a living using farm equipment. Funds have also been allocated to be used as loans by farmers and ranchers.
