John Deere Introduces New 9500, 9600, and 9700 Self-Propelled Forage Harvesters

To meet the evolving needs of contractors, as well as livestock and dairy producers, John Deere has introduced three new self-propelled forage harvesters to its lineup. The 9500, 9600, and 9700 models are designed to provide more power to customers who are challenged by factors such as shorter harvesting windows and rising operating costs.

The 9500, 9600, and 9700 models have 755 max hp, 755 max hp, and 813 max hp, respectively. They also feature the new John Deere Power Systems JD18X engine, which has up to 13% higher efficiency.

"John Deere expanded the horsepower offerings for our wide-body forage harvesters that include the 9500 to 9900 models to provide improved performance and made updates to maximize machine uptime and reduce cost of operation," said Chase Milem, marketing manager with John Deere. "Customers now have more choices than ever when it comes to selecting a new John Deere forage harvester."

For more visibility, each of the 9000 Series machines has a newly designed spout. Its geometry has also been updated, allowing operators to work in "sticky" crop conditions for longer without needing to unplug.

"Contractors and custom harvesters will appreciate the constant maximum throughput these forage harvesters provide, along with a cab that features enhanced operator visibility and comfort," Milem added. "Reliability, low cost of operation, increased quality of completed work, minimized daily maintenance requirements and reduced total fluid consumption were key improvements John Deere made that will benefit customers."

Customers who work in the livestock and dairy industries can take advantage of John Deere Premium or XStream KP kernel processors, making corn silage processing a breeze.

Those who want to take advantage of the latest agricultural technology can opt for AutoTrac™ RowSense guidance™, as well as Active Fill Control with rear unloading. The Generation 4 Universal Display also works seamlessly with these self-propelled forage harvesters, as well as John Deere HarvestLab™ 3000. This provides up-to-the-minute constituent sensing and documentation for operators. Up to seven constituents can be analyzed at any given time, including crude protein, moisture, crude fiber, starch, and sugar.

"These are industry-leading features that are available as options from the factory," Milem explained.

With JDLink™ hardware as base equipment in the 9000 Series machines, customers can also access machine data and send it wirelessly to the Operations Center™ as necessary. In the end, operators ultimately save time and money while boosting productivity.
