As customers look for more electric machinery offering both power and reliability, John Deere has announced that it will expand its electric equipment lineup. Specifically, the company intends to roll out Compact Utility Tractors, Gator utility vehicles, commercial and residential mowers, and more than 20 models of electric construction equipment by 2026.

"Whether it's our customers in agriculture or construction, they face similar challenges such as the lack of skilled labor, rising input costs, and tight deadlines," said Derek Muller, John Deere's product manager for electrification. "Through our electric lineup of products, we'll look to solve for those by reducing operational and maintenance costs, delivering powerful and reliable performance, and intuitive operation."

In early 2022, Deere acquired majority ownership of Kreisel Electric, which specializes in immersion-cooled battery technology to extend battery life in extreme climates. Deere has also been working in the hybrid-electric space, developing equipment for customers seeking hybrid construction machinery. Its latest initiative will give customers more options to reduce their carbon footprint every workday. Additionally, they will be able to experience savings on necessities, such as fuel, while maintaining efficiency on the job.

"As the industry leader, we are stepping up to the challenge, and we will continue to innovate to deliver solutions that solve our customer pain points and deliver value," Muller said. "That's what we've been doing for over 180 years, and our customers expect nothing less."
