As 2015 comes to an end, preparations for the 100th Pennsylvania Farm Show are finishing up, as the events will kick off on January 9. The show, which will continue through January 16, has a theme of, “Our Commonwealth’s Blue Ribbon Experience.” The logo and theme of the show were revealed by Agricultural Secretary Russell Redding in June 2015.

The theme is designed to highlight the individual experiences visitors have enjoyed at the event since it began back in 1917. The event’s logo is a blue ribbon, symbolizing the wide range of contests and exhibits that take place throughout the week.

“Since 1917, Pennsylvanians from all walks of life and from every corner of the state have come to Harrisburg to showcase their best livestock, their best projects, or their best products,” said Redding. “For each of these exhibitors and the millions of people who pass through the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex in January, there is something special about the Pennsylvania Farm Show.”

Another highlight of the 2016 event will be the antique tractor and engine exhibit. The exhibit is in its tenth year at the annual farm show, and it will be hosted on January 13 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Pennsylvania Farm Show is the country’s largest indoor agricultural event. It features 6,000 animals, 300 commercial exhibitors and 10,000 competitive exhibits. Admission is free to event, and parking is $15.00 at farm show lots. You can find out more information on the Pennsylvania Farm Show by visiting the official website.
