This year, the 2016 Gathering of the Green conference is set to take place between March 16 and 19 in Davenport, Ia. The event will kick off at the RiverCenter, and it will have a prominent “Forge to Farm” theme. Displays throughout the conference will reflect this theme as agricultural enthusiasts network and share their love of John Deere.

Some of the speakers slated to attend the Gathering of the Green include Agriculture Expert Don McKinley and Author Jerry Apps. There will also be numerous workshops available for people to attend throughout the event, tackling topics from the John Deere brand to LP tractors. Engine heads, cooling systems, tires and tractor restoration will also be discussed in workshops. Additionally, more than 60 vendors will be at the Gathering offering repair and restoration services.

Tours will be a big part of the Gathering of the Green this year. Individuals will have the opportunity to sign up for the John Deere Harvester Works tour, Wallace Garden Center tour and Milan Parts Distribution Center tour, among many others. This gives attendees the chance to go off-site and learn more about the wide world of agriculture.

The Gathering of the Green conference is sponsored by four John Deere antique tractor groups -- Deer Valley Collectors, Illinois Valley Two-Cylinder Club, North Eastern Illinois Twin-Cylinder Club, and Northwest Illinois Deer Collectors. John Deere collectors, restorers and enthusiasts can still register for the event online at www.gatheringofthegreen.com.
