To provide more horsepower and enhance ride quality for its customers, John Deere has announced several updates and additions to its lineup of 7R and 8R Tractors for the 2021 model year. The ultimate goal is to give operators everything they need in terms of maneuverability and power for the tasks on their to-do list.

A new addition to the 7R Series lineup is the 7R 350, which has 350 rated engine horsepower. This is a 20 horsepower increase from the largest MY20 7R Tractor, and with a base weight of 24,700 pounds, this piece of equipment offers the best power-to-weight ratio of any Deere tractor on the market. The inclusion of Triple Link Suspension and Infinitely Variable Transmission (IVT) also ensures that operators can enjoy a smoother ride.

“The new 7R 350 is the right choice for jobs that require significant power. Customers will benefit from the maneuverability and lighter footprint of the smaller chassis offered by this tractor,” said Ryan Jardon, product marketing manager, large tractors at John Deere. “If you’re hauling slurry or forage or need to power large mowing and baling equipment, these tractors are an ideal fit.”

LSB Ride Control™ is yet another new enhancement for 7R Tractors. This gives operators the ability to use a 7R Tractor to reduce soil compaction and crop damage, thanks to the tractor’s lighter footprint. LSB Ride Control also modulates the tractor’s IVT to compensate for the rocking motion of the baler plunger.

Starting with model year 2021 equipment, ActiveCommand Steering™ 2 will be made available as a factory-installed option on 7R and 8R Tractors to improve the driving experience. Deere will also offer Low Sidewall Tires as optional equipment on its three largest 8R Tractors (8R 340, 8R 370, and 8R 410).

“8R Tractors require Independent Link Suspension to be equipped with Low Sidewall Tires,” Jardon continued. “This combination provides outstanding ride quality with all the benefits of a single tire and a large footprint, such as decreased compaction, in a narrow transport package.”
