The North Dakota Agriculture Hall of Fame has inducted Maynard D. Helgaas of West Fargo as a member of its class of 2012, according to the Fargo-Moorhead Forum.

The news source reported that Helgaas is the President of Green Vision Group, a company located in Fargo. Prior to taking over the business, he worked at a John Deere Dealership in Jamestown, where he developed his love for farm equipment.

According to the Forum, he now spends the majority of his time investigating and promoting the energy beet industry. He still uses his used farm equipment all over his personal property and in the pursuit of pioneering new methods and ideas in his beet energy project.

Helgaas also served as the president of Central Dakota Growers, a seven-county greenfield potato project that eventually developed into a plant and factory, the news source reported.

The North Dakota Agriculture Hall of Fame was established for the purpose of honoring individuals who through their work and effort helped to grow the state's agricultural industry, according to the hall's website.
