The news source reported that his love for John Deere tractors, coupled with his passion for the environment, have led to him being named a recipient of the "Renew Rural Iowa Entrepreneur of the Month" by the Iowa Farm Bureau Federation.

Hoefling is not only green in the sense that he likes to promote a sustainable planet through environmentally sound practices, he also enjoys refurbishing John Deere tractors and tinkering with used farm equipment for others in his community, according to the Messenger.

The news source reported that he likes to fix tractors for people, as it brings him joy to know he is working with an iconic product.

"John Deere started with the Waterloo Boy in 1918. I'm preserving living history," Hoefling told the Messenger.
