In an effort to improve material collection for its customers, John Deere has announced that it is expanding its ZTrak™ mower attachment lineup with a new three-bag Material Collection System (MCS). Those who have a gas-powered Z900 model machine will be able to use the new attachment for more efficient material collection.

The three-bag Material Collection System gives landscapers an easier way to round up material clippings while mowing. The design reduces the size of the MCS, meaning it’s easier to maneuver and transport on trailers. With stronger suction on the blower, there are no double passes required. The blower housing is also now behind the rear tire of the mower, creating a shorter path for clipping to travel from the blower itself into the bag.

"For professional landscape contractors, time is money, and we understand the importance of efficiency while mowing," said Natalie Haller, product manager, John Deere. "One of the more time-consuming parts of mowing is cleaning up grass clippings. With the improved three-bag Material Collection System, grass and leaves are efficiently captured in the system. Additionally, as a result of the improved system design, captured materials are easily dumped, boosting overall productivity."

The 11.75-inch diameter, heavy-duty impeller chops up materials into fine pieces, developing a more efficient fill. In turn, the MCS collects as many clippings as possible, maximizing fill capacity. The bags are also lighter than the previous model, meaning unloading and emptying is a breeze.
