John Deere is bringing artificial intelligence (AI) directly into John Deere Operations Center™ with the introduction of JD™, a new AI assistant designed to help farmers get more value from the data generated across their operations.
Rather than searching through dashboards or reports, farmers can ask JD questions about their field, machine, and operational data and receive answers based on information from their own operation. The new John Deere AI assistant is entering a limited Early Access Program for select U.S. agricultural customers, with broader availability planned later in 2026.
Ask Questions About Your Farm Data
Operations Center already gives farmers a centralized place to connect data from across their operation. JD adds a conversational way to access that information, allowing farmers to ask questions in natural language and quickly surface relevant insights.
For example, farmers could use JD to ask:
- How fuel use during tillage this year compares with the last three years
- How singulation compared across fields and what impact it had on yield
- Which sprayer operator is covering the most acres per hour
- When the optimal time to harvest is based on historical trends
By bringing information from across an operation into the conversation, JD can help farmers identify patterns that may otherwise require reviewing multiple reports or datasets. That could help farmers identify potential fuel-saving practices, explore relationships between equipment settings and yield, and make more informed harvest and labor plans.
Keep Control of Your Farm Data
As John Deere introduces new ways to use farm data through AI, the company is also outlining how that information will be managed. The John Deere Farmer Data Commitment establishes 10 principles focused on giving farmers control, transparency, and choice over their data.
Under the commitment, John Deere says farmers retain control of their farm data and can decide which third parties they share it with. Farmers can also stop the flow of their data to third parties at any time.
John Deere also states that it does not sell farmers' farm data or use it for agricultural commodity trading or speculation. John Deere states that it uses farm data, as well as aggregated and anonymized data, as described in its agreements and policies to deliver value through improved machine performance and decision-making insights.
When Will the John Deere AI Assistant Be Available?
John Deere is beginning the rollout of JD through a limited Early Access Program for select U.S. agricultural customers. Eligible customers can express interest in participating and gaining early access to the technology.
JD is expected to become more broadly available later in 2026 through Operations Center on web and mobile, with an in-cab display experience planned for the future.
As JD evolves, John Deere plans to introduce capabilities tailored to customers in turf, construction, roadbuilding, and forestry.
