To provide customers with the capabilities they need to boost productivity, John Deere is rolling out new features for its GP-Series motor graders. Auto-Pass, Auto-Shift PLUS, Configurable Float, and SmartGrade™ Remote Support will all be fully programmable, intuitive, and versatile for both new and experienced operators.

The Auto-Pass feature programs machine movements at the start and end of grading passes. The machine can simultaneously place the blade on the ground while preparing for the next pass, eliminating unnecessary steps and saving valuable time.

Auto-Shift PLUS allows operators to use the throttle and brake instead of an inching peddle for increased control of the machine. It also helps the equipment come to a complete stop without stalling.

Configurable Float allows float switches to be programmed to control auxiliary functions, adding versatility in applications where these functions are commonly used.

Finally, SmartGrade Remote Support connects dealers with operators of machinery, regardless of the distance between them. The dealer can troubleshoot machine issues and upgrade software directly from the dealership. This eliminates downtime and the need for the dealer to visit the machine in person.

“The John Deere motor grader lineup has a legacy of technological and mechanical innovation, dating back decades, with the notable introduction of the industry’s first mastless 3D grade control system in 2019,” said Matt Goedert, solutions marketing manager, John Deere. “Fast forward to today, and we’re still striving to deliver industry-leading capabilities that allow any operator — new or experienced — to work more efficiently on the job site. The latest features build upon that legacy, allowing us to put even more power and precision into the hands of the operator.”
