John Deere announced on June 16 that it had updated the 370E, 410E and 460E dump trucks, which make up its current E-Series Articulated Dump Truck line. The machines were each given an EPA Final Tier 4/EU Stage IV John Deere PowerTech diesel engine, in addition to a pressurized cab.

"The new E-Series articulated dump trucks are the result of our most important asset, our customers," said Mark Shea, ADT product consultant at John Deere Construction and Forestry.

The E-Series ADTs have 422 horsepower (370E), 443 horsepower (410E) and 481 horsepower (460E) to get the job done faster. The ZF transmission on these machines has eight forward gears and four reverse gears, as well as a high capacity retarder for extended brake life.

However, the biggest change to the E-Series ADTs may be the pressurized cab. As a result of its new design, the cab is extra quiet and pressurized to keep out dust. There is also a push-button start, low-effort push-button controls and heated high-back seating.

"We worked with our customers to find out what they need in an articulated dump truck to make their jobs more safe, efficient, and productive,” Shea continued. “The E-Series is equipped with several features to accommodate these requests.”

All E-Series models also have a 7-inch high-resolution LCD monitor for onboard diagnostics, as well as digital gauges and vital system indicators for convenience.
