John Deere announced a new zero-turn mower and an expansion to an existing model on Jan. 19 in order to meet the business needs of professional landscapers. The new Z960M mower is designed to provide more power to operators at an affordable price. An expansion to the Z970R ZTrak will give customers more deck options as they work.

"We are constantly looking for ways to improve and expand our offerings to better equip our customers," said Nick Minas, product manager of John Deere Commercial Mowing. "Through the introduction of the Z960M and the expansion of the Z970R, we are able to provide our customers with a solution that fits their business, regardless of the difficulty of the task or their price point."

The Z960M has 31 horsepower and three deck options – 60 inches, 60-inch Mulch on Demand ™, and 72 inches. The push/pull PTO switch has also been changed to a toggle style switch to improve the feel of operation. Additionally, front tie down points have been added to the machine. This alteration can now be seen on all mowers in the zero-turn Line.

The Z970R mower features two new deck options – 60-inch side discharge or 60-inch MOD. The mower itself is the most powerful machine in the Z900 Series line-up.
