The Shippensburg Community Fair will be held as a chance for local residents to taste the best of local food, enjoy live entertainment and to celebrate the area's rich history of agriculture and farming, according to the Chambersburg Public Opinion.
Stables full of groomed and 'gussied up' livestock will line the fairgrounds along with amusement rides, vintage tractors and a variety of food vendors with treats ranging from local fare to staples of any carnival-like atmosphere, the news source reported.
Along with the many types of food and amusement rides, the free fair will feature a series of tractor pull events, ranging from antique models to newer 4x4 vehicles that will compete in a variety of categories, reported the Opinion.
The antique vehicles that are featured will include two models of the 1963 John Deere two cylinder tractor, as kids and adults alike will be able to take a ride on these staples of the agriculture industry, according to the news source.
New models of John Deere tractors have been released by the agricultural giant, ranging from the 4000 series to the more powerful Track Tractor series, the company website reported.
