Leslie Doggett Industries, a Houston, Texas-based dealer of John Deere construction equipment, has plans to move its dealership, according to a published report.

As the country's largest dealer of Deere equipment, Leslie Doggett Industries is moving to a 23.5-acre site, according to the Houston Business Journal. The company paid $8.4 million for the site.

The company paid Rush Enterprises $26.2 million in September 2010 to have control over John Deere machinery and equipment dealerships that were situated in Houston and Beaumont, Texas. After that transaction was finalized, the profile of Leslie Doggett Industries rose as it had 16 dealerships split between Texas and Louisiana.

Leslie Doggett Industries also gained exclusive rights to sell Deere forestry and construction equipment in Texas' Gulf Coast and throughout the entire state of Louisiana.

The deal with Rush Enterprises pushed up the total number of full-time employees at Leslie Doggett Industries to 710. Annual revenue benefited as well as the company pulled in more than $455 million.

Leslie Doggett Industries' new site sits between West Gulf Bank and West Mount Houston Road.

The company is working on selling two plots of land, an 8-acre site on the property's north and 4.5-acre site on the south.
