Detectives in the Victoria, Australia area are investigating the latest round of thefts that have occurred in the city. This time, however, the thieves have targeted used farm equipment, due to its high value, according to Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC News).

The news source reported that the detectives have noticed the high incidence of tractor thefts in the region following the disappearance of two John Deere machines from properties in suburbs of the city.

These reports were similar to those that were filed in May, June and July, and the detectives are viewing the incidents as possibly being linked to the earlier thefts.

According to ABC News, detective Sergeant Brendan Murphy noted that the thefts were carried out in a similar manner and when asked if a link was present, responded, "Certainly starting to look that way," he said. "There's just too many of them and they appear to be focusing specifically on John Deere tractors."

Shepparton News reported that the tractors that were stolen contributed to a problem that has occurred in the country, and the specific models were in the 6000 series from John Deere.
