To help farmers use more expensive and complex tank mixes more efficiently out in the field, John Deere has rolled out See & Spray™ Select. This advanced spraying technology is designed to be installed on a John Deere sprayer to minimize input costs and only spray weeds as they are detected.

Camera technology is used to detect color differentiation out in the field. See & Spray Select is ideal for small-grain farmers who manage weeds on fallow acres. The cameras are designed to only detect green plants within fallow ground, triggering application to those plants. On average, farmers can expect to save about 77% of their non-residual, pre-emerge herbicide.

"Farmers battling herbicide resistance in their fields can now utilize more expensive and complex tank mixes and achieve a more effective weed kill at a lower cost than they could have in the past, thanks to the cost savings realized from only applying products onto the targeted weeds versus spraying the entire field," says Joel Basinger, marketing manager for John Deere. "Research has shown that weeds sprayed with complex tank mixes with more than two modes of action are 83 times less likely to develop herbicide resistance."

See & Spray Select is the only OEM solution available that allows farmers to have both a spot-spray and a broadcast machine in one integrated solution. In turn, producers can cover more acres per day, as they are not stopping as often to refill.

See & Spray Select can be equipped on MY22 and newer John Deere 400 and 600 Series Sprayers, including the 408R, 410R, 412R, 612R, and 616R. For more information, visit JohnDeere.com or visit your local John Deere dealer.
