A strong feeling of community camaraderie was present at the Pioneer Day Parade organization party in Paso Robles, California, as the board members, sponsors and supporters fondly remembered the procession led by used John Deere tractors and planned the 2012 event, according to the Paso Robles Press.

The news source reported that Pioneer Day Chair Wade Taylor highlighted the top moments from last year's parade, and noted that the organizers had much to do in the upcoming year.

"A lot of the time you’re at meetings and we’re working our tails off and we wonder if it’s really worth it," Taylor told the Press. "Pioneer Day is a worthwhile event."

Taylor noted that the 2011 parade boasted dozens of impressive tractors, more than 25 wagons and community spirit. Visitors were able to hop aboard the used farm equipment in the procession after it was over, something that many children were able to enjoy.

According to the event's website, the first Pioneer Day celebration occurred in 1931, and the same type of community organization and spirit that was used then is still a major part of the event.
