The sales of construction equipment to people around the world grew 25 percent last year, as equipment purchases within the industry represented a record number as the global economic recession began to wane.

Construction Pros reported that the annual Yellow Table survey by KHL Group showed an increase in the amount of purchases made by construction companies, and businesses like John Deere entered into the top level of suppliers due to a rise in sales.

"A rebound in the European, North American and Japanese construction markets was the key driver last year. There was also growth for some of China's larger players, but they faced the first significant headwinds for more than a decade as the country's stimulus spending programs came to an end. Over the next 12 months the continued recovery in North America is likely to be decisive for the 2013 Yellow Table," the Yellow Table survey's author said in a statement.

International Construction reported that the coming year could see more sales for companies like John Deere, as the American market is expected to grow, while the Chinese and European industries are expected to remain stagnant or decline slightly.
