John Deere has announced the development of OnLink, a product stemming from its collaboration with OnGolf™, a golf course performance optimization software company.

The cloud-based golf course management platform allows users to collect data to manage equipment, labor, water, and more. It is also designed to provide precise, accurate weather forecasting.

OnLink has automated reporting, which gives users insight into everything from course conditions to economic reports. With this information, golf staff can make the best possible agronomic decisions in real-time.

"John Deere Golf is excited to join forces with OnGolf to provide this comprehensive course management solution to our customers," said Dave Plaster, sales manager of John Deere Golf. "With OnLink, course operators will be able to create and easily maintain best practices for course management and equipment maintenance."

In the summer of 2017, a fleet management program will be rolled out for OnLink. It will allow users to keep track of equipment maintenance, usage, labor operator qualifications, and scheduling. Operators will also be able to look up parts for ordering for all brands of equipment.

"John Deere's equipment and fleet management expertise coupled with OnGolf's success with performance optimization software creates an innovative management solution for our customers and the industry," said Walt Norley, founder and CEO of OnGolf. "These cloud-based features are proven to simplify course maintenance, saving managers time and money while improving playing conditions."
